Union,
NH – Moose Mountains Regional Greenways (MMGR), a regional land conservation organization, has hired a part-time Education Coordinator, Kari Lygren, to help organize and carry out our organization’s events. Kari has assisted in a volunteer capacity at many MMRG events over the years. A resident of Milton Mills, Kari brings a background in sales, marketing and office management and is also a Trager professional. She currently serves on the Milton School Board and Conservation Commission.
“Kari will be a great help in coordinating annual events like the Branch River Paddle and the Woods, Water and Wildlife Festival, as well as our workshops and nature walks,” said MMRG Chairman of the Board Steve Panish.
MMRG will also say good-bye to its Director of Land Conservation Cynthia Belowski in May. Cynthia’s is a familiar face at Conservation Commission meetings throughout the region. She has been with MMRG since 2006, serving first as the Executive Director before focusing her efforts on land conservation projects.
She will pass the torch to Clay Mitchell, who will assume the position of Director of Land Conservation in May. Clay’s is also a familiar face around the region. He has provided planning services to the Town of Middleton for the past two years and completed a cost of services project for the Town of New Durham. Most recently, he facilitated a public input session in the Town of Brookfield regarding potential reuses for the Moose Mountain ski area.
Clay has degrees in Environmental Law, Natural Resources and Earth System Science, Anthropology and Classical Archaeology. He has presented extensively at various planning conferences throughout the state and region.
“Clay brings outstanding credentials to the organization,” said Panish. “Plus, he already knows his way around the Moose Mountain region. He’ll be able to hit the ground running.”
