MMRG Water Quality Cruise to Become Annual Event

Moose Mountains Regional Greenways sponsored an educational and fun two-hour cruise on Lake Winnipesauke on Sunday, September 26.

As the boat toured the lake, the air was enlivened with traditional Irish tunes played by the 5-piece band, Celtic Odyssey. At a stopping point out on the lake, Robert Craycraft of UNH Cooperative Extension, showed participants how to test water quality samples from the lake. He discussed the importance of natural vegetation buffers around the edges of waterways to filter runoff and maintain good water quality. The cruise was so successful that Moose Mountains Regional Greenways plans to make it an annual event!
